FAQ

Gigabit Ethernet questions

Do not see your question? Call (954) 474-2204.

Cat6 or Cat6A: which does my office need?

Cat6 handles Gigabit Ethernet comfortably and supports 10 Gigabit over shorter runs. Cat6A supports 10 Gigabit over the full 100 meter run and is a common choice when you want room to grow. We will recommend the right category based on your equipment, layout and plans.

Will new cabling make our network faster?

It removes the cabling as a bottleneck. Your actual speed also depends on your switches, internet service and devices, which our team can review with you or with WheelHouse IT.
